We were founded in 2005 by scientists working at MIT who saw the critical need for better instrumentation to study biology at the whole tissue and organ level. Since our founding our novel imaging instrumentation has been installed in laboratories worldwide and has been foundational for many major scientific initiatives.

 

Today we are continue our record for innovation. We have opened a contract research service that directly serves scientists working in drug development, and we have also recently been awarded additional National Institutes of Health Small Business Innovation Research awards to develop innovative instrumentation and methods to help further drug development and biomedical research.

TissueVision's mission is to make the tools researchers need to develop life-saving therapies. To do this we have put a team of creative and collaborative individuals hoping to make a difference in the world by combining their expertise in biology and engineering. About us 

TissueVision Inc. (TVI) is located along the Charles River in Newton, MA, a vibrant environment within a couple miles from Boston and Cambridge. TVI develops high-speed automated microscopy systems that produce stunning multimodal data-rich 3D images of tissues. This technology allows TVI to provide its preclinical and clinical collaborators with powerful 3D imaging and analytical research services. We are looking to immediately hire a Laboratory Technician to support our R&D tissue preparation and imaging efforts.

Position Overview 

The qualified Laboratory Technician will work under the supervision of a senior colleague on external and internal research projects that utilize our TVI imaging systems. This is an outstanding opportunity for a person early in their career to develop research skills, along with forming good laboratory practices to enhance the confidence of a project’s results. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about ex vivo imaging research, capable of working in a laboratory setting, enjoys working in a team environment, and excited to apply new skill sets immediately.

Responsibilities 

  • Help execute imaging projects

  • Train to become proficient in two-photon and other imaging and histology techniques

  • Record and maintain well-organized documentation, including study binders, notebooks, and logbooks

  • Prepare, section, and image tissue samples for internal and external projects

  • Participate in routine meetings with senior management to present study results

  • Prepare standard solutions, reagents, buffers, and medias used for research projects

  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment

  • Perform quality control review of imaging and analysis data

  • Assist with establishing new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) and Standard Technical Procedures (STPs)

Required Qualifications 

  • High School or Associates degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline

  • 0-3 years of relevant industry experience in biology, histology, imaging, or related field

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

This imaging technology allows TVI’s world-class, multi-disciplinary team to support preclinical and clinical development of breakthrough therapies in fields ranging from cancer, neurodegeneration, cardiology to fibrosis. Last year we expanded our contract research services and moved into a brand-new facility in Newton, MA, a vibrant environment along the Charles River within a couple miles of Boston and Cambridge. We are looking to immediately hire a Research Scientist to become a part of our growing services team.

Position Overview 

The qualified Research Scientist will work under the supervision of senior management on external and internal research projects that utilize our TVI imaging systems. As a primary interface between TissueVision and our partners, you will be communicating directly with our Sponsors to help generate solutions to novel scientific problems which lead to new therapeutics. This is an outstanding opportunity to advance your career by working with experienced experts in both imaging and contract research services.

Responsibilities 

  • Plan, execute, and finalize imaging studies.

  • Lead internal research teams

  • Contribute to the application and development of imaging assays incorporating ISH, IHC, imaging mass cytometry, and other highly multiplexed, multi-modal, analyses and advanced spatial biology approaches.

  • Work closely with the business development team in developing larger strategic goals.

  • Author and review protocols, reports, white papers, and scientific papers

Required Qualifications 

  • BS or MS in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 3-5 / 5-7 years of relevant industry experience in histology, imaging, or related field.

  • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to maintain strict compliance with all SOPs, rules, and regulations

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with molecular imaging and 3D imaging/modeling

  • Experience with confocal or multiphoton microscopy

  • Experience with image analysis such as ImageJ and Python image analysis packages

  • Experience working in an industry GLP or GLP-like environment
